Thank you for your interest in the Squash Club, a section of Cheam Sports Club which also caters for Bowls, Bridge, Cricket, Football, Karate, Korfball, Hockey & Tennis.

The Squash Club which was formed during the 1970's is a friendly members club offering squash to all levels of ability from beginners and juniors through to club players.

We run leagues of 5 weeks duration, and winter and summer doubles competitions, as well as the club championships and handicap tournament. Friendly games are played throughout the year and two mens and one ladies team are entered in the Surrey Cup.

We have a professional coach associated with the Club who is available to give lessons throughout the week.

As a members club, in order to reduce costs, we 'look after' the squash club ourselves which does mean relying on volunteers for various administrative tasks as well as maintenance and repair. In addition to squash, the club facilitates a number of other extra activities such as on and off road cycle rides, windsurfing and rambling. If you also like to play tennis, reciprocal arrangements do exist for 'off peak' play, but for more regular use it may be better to join the tennis section as well.

In April 2001 Cannons opened a fitness complex and swimming pool within the club grounds which incorporates a new pavilion and bar area for the Sports Club. This exciting venture has vastly improved the general amenities at Cheam Sports Club as well as providing potential new members for all sections of the Club.

Squash Membership fees 2003/2004

The date for determining ages is 1st April of the current year. Subscriptions are for 12 month periods expiring at the end of March each year. Off peak members cannot play in the leagues. Corporate members cannot play in the evenings or enter the leagues. Social membership is a fixed annual fee without proportionment.

Court fees
Court fees are normally £5 for a 40 minute session, however you can pay for 10 courts in advance for £40, a £10 saving !!

Hours of use
The court sessions are 40 minutes staggered at ten minute intervals from court to court, with the first booking at 9am and the last booking at 9.40pm. Peak times are from 5.40pm, Mondays to Fridays.

Bookings
These may be made up to two weeks in advance. This is taken from 7pm Monday to Friday and from 9am at weekends and Bank Holidays. There is no facility for telephone bookings.

Guests
Guests are welcome but they must play with a member of the Squash Club, and each can be introduced up to six times a year. Payment is an additional £2 per session.

Club Nights
These are open to all members on Saturday (3.40 to 6.20pm) and Sunday (4 to 6pm). No need to book - just turn up and play. Cost is £2.50 per session.

Members Benefits
Club members can benefit from a 10% discount on non-sale merchandise at Cheam Sports shop. They stock a full range of clothing and equipment together with providing in-house restringing of racquets.
